How will my information be used

Your contribution to this national conversation will greatly assist the Commission to provide recommendations to Government on priorities for change for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls.

The Australian Human Rights Commission will not publish or otherwise disclose confidential information provided to us throughout this national engagement.

However, where the information discloses that a person is at threat of imminent serious physical harm the relevant information will be reported to the appropriate authority.

In order to protect the identity of the authors and/or third parties we will endeavour to ensure information provided to us be de-identified. Any personal information will be used and stored in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Please be aware that whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure indemnity and confidentiality, there is a possibility that information provided within submissions marked confidential might be released, in whole or in part, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (Cth).
