Wiyi Yani U Thangani—meaning women's voices in Bunuba language—sets out to capture and respond to the strengths, aspirations and challenges of First Nations women and girls. We acknowledge our First Nations matriarchs—our first mothers of this land—and pay our respects to them and our elders who watch over us, our Countries, waters and skies.

This exhibition documents part of the Wiyi Yani U Thangani (Women's Voices) Project, a ground breaking national conversation, led by Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner, Ms June Oscar AO, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls. The discussions explored the issues, challenges, strengths and achievements of these women and girls, building understanding of their priorities, challenges and aspirations for themselves, their families and their future.
